Yoga and inclusive movement therapy for the anxious child – imtyoga™ – a one day intensive offering a foundation in somatic techniques to support the physical and emotional wellbeing of individuals and groups living with Autism, ADHD, complex and neuro diverse needs.


What is yoga and inclusive movement therapy?

Yoga and inclusive movement therapy for the anxious child – imtyoga™ – is a one day module that offers an introduction to imtyoga’s ABC approach to somatic techniques. These simple techniques support the physical and emotional wellbeing of individuals and groups living with Autism, ADHD and other neuro differences.

Who’s it for?

Our modules are person centred and blend yoga, movement to music, Mindfulness and deep relaxation techniques together with effective teaching strategies and framework design – ideal for special educational needs staff, allied heath-care professionals, service providers, yoga teachers, dance instructors, PE dept, carers and parents.


Our one day intensive offers participants user friendly, practical skills that can be immediately implemented to support individuals and groups with self regulation, confidence, social skills and learning.

Course leaders:

Cathy Underwood – imtyoga™ founder and course director, yoga and movement therapist

Cathy is a registered senior yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance Professionals UK and is currently studying a masters in Yoga therapy, neuroscience and psychiatry.

With a wealth of experience teaching for special groups, Cathy specialises in areas of complex mental health conditions, addiction therapy and SEN. Her clients include The Priory Hospital, Elphis recovery unit, Ambitious about Autism, The TreeHouse School and National Autistic Society.

She is the recipient of five business awards and is a Female Founder Ambassador, in conjunction with Enterprise Enfield and JPMorgan, supporting women in business. 

Mikaela Shalders – imtyoga™ for the anxious child course director, occupational therapist

Mikaela has a Masters in Occupational Therapy and a Bachelor in Health Studies from Latrobe University Bendigo, Australia.

Now living in London, she is the senior occupational therapist for The London Children’s Practice and brings a wealth of experience to the modules.

Mikaela specialises in Autism sensory processing issues, early intervention and has completed additional training in circle of security and attachment theory. Mikaela works within many schools across London and is an expert witness supporting families through the EHCP application and tribunals. She hopes to see a future were all children access learning to reach their full potential.
